A regional engagement app designed to incentivize visits to local businesses on Vancouver Island through gamified QR code check-ins.
Vancouver Island Heartbeatz is a mobile application that encourages users to explore and interact with local businesses by checking in at various locations across Vancouver Island. The app divides the island into eight distinct geographical areas, promoting regional tourism and local commerce.

Challenge
The challenge was to develop an engaging and user-friendly platform that could reliably track user visits across multiple businesses and areas. The app needed to motivate continuous engagement and reward users, maintaining interest over extended periods.
Solution
We created an iOS and Android-compatible app where users check-in by scanning QR codes at participating businesses. The app tracks each visit and offers prizes to users who complete check-ins across all businesses within a defined area. The solution includes a robust backend system to manage geographical data, business participation, and user rewards efficiently.
