How it works
- Choose an example project and replace the sample tasks with your own.
- Set start and end dates, estimated hours and hourly rates. Link tasks that need earlier work to finish first.
- Review schedule conflicts and your extra budget for the unexpected. Export the plan to discuss with your team.
Start with an example
The workspace includes fictional examples you can replace with your own details:
- customer portal
- internal application
- legacy modernization
Choosing another example asks before replacing your work. Save a JSON copy first if you want to keep it.
What to know before you use the result
- Estimated hours × hourly rate gives each task cost, rounded to two decimal places. Task costs are added before your contingency percentage is applied.
- Both the start and end date count toward duration. Working days are Monday to Friday, with no allowance for public holidays. Dates do not shift with your time zone.
- Task hours are separate from calendar duration. A task that follows another should start on the next working day after that earlier task ends. Conflicts are warnings; tasks never move automatically.
- Sample rates and hours are fictional examples, not Essential Designs prices. This is a planning estimate, not a quotation or a resource-capacity forecast.
Keep your original files. Browser storage can be cleared by your browser or another person using this device.
Good to know
Does changing a task move the rest of the plan?
No. You control every task date. The planner flags conflicts so you can decide which dates to change.
Can I use this without dragging the chart?
Yes. All task details, dates and dependencies are editable in the task list. On a small screen, the list is shown first and the timeline is optional.
