source & documentation
Use the tool in your browser, inspect how it works, or run and adapt the source locally.
One source kit. Three working tools.
The kit includes all three workspaces, shared validation, export adapters, a minimal local demo, a local CLI, tests, example files, licences and a locked dependency list.

We built the form-based workspace, versioned data model, validation, examples, safe local exports and business-facing documentation. This uses the Mermaid engine; it is not a fork of the complete Mermaid Live Editor application.
Upstream Mermaid repository · Engine version 11.17.2 · MIT licence
Start locally
Extract the archive into a new directory. Use Node.js 24.19 or later in the Node 24 line, then run:
npm ci
npm run build
npm run browsers
npm test
npm run demoThe demo runs on your own machine. For file generation and agent use, see the tested CLI commands. Some rendering commands need the pinned Playwright Chromium browser described in the kit README.
Licence and scope
The new tool code is released under MIT. Dependencies retain their own licences, including Apache-2.0 notices and the Noto Sans SIL Open Font License. Read LICENSE and THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES in the archive.
The kit does not grant rights to the Essential Designs name, logo, corporate layout, private website source or customer material. It includes no API keys, telemetry or remote document storage.
Keep the safety boundaries
Changes to supported fields, templates, renderer settings or upload limits need their own validation and testing. Browser-local operation does not make arbitrary HTML, SVG or Mermaid source safe. Start with the included security fixtures and review notes.
